Topics Education Captures 2006 Entrepreneur Award

Annual Charlotte Chamber Award celebrates entrepreneurial spirit

CHARLOTE, N.C. – Education outreach & communications firm, Topics Education, was presented with the 2006 Entrepreneur of the Year Award for companies with 20 or fewer employees. The 23rd annual Charlotte Chamber entrepreneur awards were held on Thursday, September 14, 2006, at the Westin Hotel.

The ceremony, attended by 450 people on Thursday night, is a tradition in Charlotte that recognizes big and small businesses that have a fervor for innovation, sustainability and achievement. Finalists in the two categories—owners with 1-20 employees and owners with 21-100 employees—were selected by an expert panel of college, government and business leaders, including previous Entrepreneur Award winners.

Topics Education, which began as a local educational publisher over 10 years ago, has grown into a full-service education outreach and communications firm. The firm designs and manages a wide variety of customized programs for businesses and nonprofits across the United States that want to support education.

“Our entire organization is proud to be recognized for helping our clients help education,” said Phelps Sprinkle, President & CEO of Topics Education. “Serving as an advisor to, and liaison between, the education world and the business world carries a lot of responsibility. We relish this responsibility because it allows us to do well by doing good and to help our clients do the same.”
